First big meal

Today the puppies had their first big dinner on their menu. What can I say? They  l o v e d  it! Once I got the camera started, most of the food was already gone. This is the first step towards weaning our little ones. Most breeders wean their puppies at 3 to 4 weeks of age, but we really believe in the benefits of breast milk and a slow weaning process. From now and on we will offer them food, but won't separate them from their mother. That way they can slowly wean at their own pace, and Moneypenny's milk supply can slowly decrease without causing her a mastitis (inflammation of breast tissue).
