Vet appointment

I just wanted to let you know that we have been at the vet from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Since this was the first time for us using this vet I was a but nervous before our visit. Working on this amount of puppies is not easy and requires good organization. Luckily my worries stood no ground, and the team at Jolly Pond Veterinary Clinic herein Williamsburg did a thorough, efficient and friendly job on all of them! Needless to say that we were the hot topic there this morning. Staff came to take pictures, snuggle, touch and give treats. Other clients stopped by to take pictures as well and speak with me about the litter. I am sure they will post pictures on their facebook page soon. And when they do, I will share them with all of you.

Puppies ranged from 3.5 to 8.1 lbs in weight and are all healthy. Testicles have started to drop among all boys. All puppies received their first set of shots, worming, microchip, health exam and were told how pretty and cute they are.

Video

This video was taken right after I put them in the tub. The brown water is shampoo btw and not dirt :D

New single shots

After the bath we took the puppies outside to play in the yard to dry. Once they were tired and got settled, we placed each one of them in a wheelbarrow filled with hay to take new single shots. I will also upload many short videos of some of the puppies, so stay tuned.

Gus (male)
Calm, quiet and very loving. Appreciates
every single piece of human attention he
gets immediately and repays you with
love and affection.

Maggie (SOLD)

Chloe (SOLD)

Duke (male)
If I could then I would keep Duke! Not only is he
absolutely stunning, but he has also a very loving,
balanced and "in your pocket" personality.

Olivia (SOLD)

Zoe (female)
Zoe is such a calm, respectful and well-balanced
character, that she often fails to stand out among the
more demanding puppies. She will make great addition
to a family with children (which she adores!), and a comfy
couch.

Jack (male)
Jack is a loving and curious dog who loves to be
carried around in cradle hold. He loves to go on
adventures between the shrubs and knows how to pose
for the camera!

Shadow (SOLD)

Shadow and Jack

Rosie (female)
Rosie is a very special girl with a true puppy
personality. She wants to be babied, and how could
you not after a look at this adorable little face?
Rosie loves the human touch and beg for it whenever
she can!

Cowboy (SOLD)

First bath

Today was a very special day as the puppies received their first bath. We just recently discovered a new bedding for them which keeps them surprisingly clean for a very long time, so now I hope that they will look this pretty until they leave in less than two weeks! I am a bit jealous because the puppies got to get a bath before me in our new Japanese soaking tub... and they didn't even appreciate it. I will also upload two videos shortly.

Weekend video 2

Weekend video 1

Once a day we usually take the puppies out to the driveway for a little exercise and socialization.

Below your can find a video of our Sunday driveway fun. I wish I could add names on the puppies, but there wouldn't be a point due to their speed ;) I hope you can tell them apart.

P.S.: Excuse my husband's appearance... he just got back from cutting 15 trees in our forest.

Snapshots of our outdoor fun!

Zoe

Below you can find a video of Zoe, on of the two girls that are still available. From experience I can say that the darker the puppy, the longer it will take him or her to find a home. This is because the features of a dark brindled Whippet don't stand out as much as in other colors, and the video is proof of this ;) Zoe is a big and very calm girl. In this video you can see a lot of socialization with aunt Ada, who takes over the upbringing of the puppies once mommy got sick of her puppies! If you have never seen adult dogs of the pack play with puppies then you may be alarmed at first, but let me assure you that this is absolutely normal and healthy for the dogs social development.

Little Harry

We have now started to rotate the puppies in the morning. This means that every puppy gets to spend 10 - 20 minutes with us in the mornings and evenings. With an average time of 15 minutes and a total of 11 puppies, you can easily do your math and figure that this is very time consuming. However, we believe that giving each puppy regular individual attention is crucial to the making of a sound mind. We are very consistent in the way we raise our puppies and have continued for years to raise them with plenty of interaction with the two and four legged members of our family.

Here you can see Little Harry, who is the favorite puppy of my children. Harry is the smallest puppy of the litter and such a kind and very very gentle soul, as you can see in this video. He has a healthy curiosity without getting himself overly excited or nervous.

Please be prepared for sneezers and toddler screaming in the videos :)

4 weeks old

The puppies are 4 weeks old and it was about time to add new single shots. While some puppies enjoyed the camera, some did not. Some puppies are nervous while some are just too playful to take decent pictures. I was planning to take individual videos tomorrow so stay tuned. P.S.: the pictures of Olivia have disappeared from the camera so there are none of her, unfortunately. I think I may have to make up for this with a puppy skype session.

Rosie (girl)
Call her princess Rosie! Rosie is a small but feisty girl that
can not be convinced to do something, but you will have to bow
in front of her and hope for her good favor! She is a sweet and
energy loaded bouncy ball that loves to give wet puppy kisses.

Duke (boy)
Duke is stunningly handsome and a gentle soul. He likes
the touch of the human hand and would push against it to demand more.

Emma (SOLD)
Emma's blue brindle is finally showing through nicely.
Emma is a big girl with a kind and gentle soul. She will only
move if it is absolutely required, but be the first one to notice when
I show up at the puppy run.

Zoe (girl)
Zoe is an average sized girl with a very well balanced
personality. She is active but not bouncy, laid back but not lazy.
Zoe enjoys having her ears rubbed!

(little) Harry (boy)
Little Harry is a small and very gentle boy with a huge tongue!
He loves to go on expeditions in the yard, and always manages
to sleep on top of the Whippet pile although he is the smallest. Smart!

Cowboy (SOLD)
Cowboy seems to have a very well balanced character
and laid back demeanor. He is incredibly pretty and very
playful with his litter mates and my children.

Maggie (SOLD)
Maggie loves to discover every single corner of the puppy run
and our home when she is allowed to roam freely. She is gentle
and very forgiving.

Chloe (SOLD)
Chloe is a very playful puppy, regardless of the size or species
she is currently playing with. Her favorite partner in crime is Rosie,
and together they bounce around the puppy run.

Gus (boy)
Gus is a big bear with a gentle and loving soul! He spends a lot
of time snuggling with Emma, and even allows the smaller puppies
to continuously pull on his ear.

Jack (boy)
Jack will one day make a great running partner to someone!
He pays a lot of attention to his surroundings and is ready for
action in less than a second. Obviously he doesn't like the camera,
so I had to hold him still on my arms.
