The parents

If you wondered about the parents of our current litter, please read below:

Moneypenny:
Moneypenny is a fawn brindle with black mask. Her friendly and affectionate personality make her a pleasure to be around. She is very fond of children and regularly serves as the nighttime snuggle buddy of my older son. Moneypenny has a very well balanced personality, an absolutely sound mind and the loyalty that is to be expected of a Whippet. Her mindset show in her offspring, of which many have grown up to be excellent family dogs, as well as mental support or community service dogs. Moneypenny comes from a long line of successfully shown  ancestors of American and British blood. She conforms to they FCI international as well as the AKC American standard, is double registered, and passed her health checks prior to breeding with flying colors.

Domino vom Tempelgarten:
Domino was imported from Europe in 2011 and is a red brindle with white markings. Domino is the vibrant picture of the original Whippet which can rarely be found outside of Europe, giving our litters a distinct look of greater elegance, finer bones and softer coats. As one of the few triple registered sires in the US, Domino conforms to the FCI international as well as the AKC American breed standards. His devotion, loyalty to our family and obedience are unquestioned, and his sound mind and gentle personality certainly make him stand out. Domino, too, comes from a long line of champions, and his agility and speed have made previous offspring successful in agility competitions.

We are 3 weeks old now!

I know, I know... I am a day late with updating the single shots of the puppies. But better late then never right? Below you can see each individual puppy along with a note in case the puppy is currently on hold (awaiting deposit) or sold. Please understand that these little wiggle worms are tough to capture on camera, so some pictures may be better than others. Being taken to a photoshoot is a very exciting thing for our puppies since they usually don't leave their box yet!

A quick look into the whelping box.

All puppies have started to slowly open their eyes, but their vision is still quite blurry. Once all their eyes are open and clear, we will take some beautiful face shots of each individual puppy! Until then, please enjoy this quick look into the whelping box when mommy wasn't around to protest ;)

Visit us
We don't mind if you stop by and take a look at the litter, as soon as they are 2 weeks old. If you let me know which time you will be here, I will have freshly brewed coffee ready! Please know that you will have to remove your shoes upon entry of our home, as well as you will have to disinfect your hands.

Reservations
If you want to reserve one of our puppies, we need a down payment of $300. The rest of the purchase price has to be paid 2 weeks prior to pick-up/shipping. We do not "hold" puppies. Since the down-payment is non-refundable and a commitment to purchase, please be 100% sure that you are not going to change your mind about which puppy you want. If you are unsure, just give it a couple more days or weeks, observe how their coats are changing and their overall appearance. You can always contact us and we will be more than happy to help you making the right choice for you and your family!

Payment methods
We prefer checks, but also accept paypal, venmo as well as cash.

Pick-up/shipping
The puppy has to be at least 8 weeks plus 1 day of age before he or she goes to the new home. If a puppy seems to need a few more days with us, you will have to wait. The health of the puppies is always our biggest concern, we hope you can understand and accept that. Your puppy can be picked up at our home.
We have a lot experience in shipping our puppies all over the US. We know that a lot of people are concerned about "shipping a live animal", but let me assure you that all our puppies always got to their destination without issues. Some puppies had to travel as far as to the west coast, and they were happy and healthy once their new owners welcomed them.

If you wish to have your puppy shipped, the fee will be $300 which includes the airline approved flight kennel with food bowls. We do not rent kennels from the airline, so the kennel is yours to keep. We will ship the puppy to the closest available airport on the fastest route and connections. Our puppies fly with DELTA AIRLINES.

Last but not least I want to say a few words about puppy SCAMS and online puppy buying...

I understand that buying a puppy online is a scary endeavor for most of you, especially if you have never done it before. Unfortunately, the Whippet can be a rare find here in the United States and there are almost always a whole bunch of miles between you and the puppy of your choice. Scams on the internet have people pay down payments for puppies who never arrive, or probably don't even exist. I want to assure you that we are not a scam. We are real and so are our puppies.
It is important to us that you know WHO WE are, just as we want to know WHO YOU are. In 2013 I therefore started to keep this blog constantly updated on the litter and the individual puppies. This blog will provide you with hundreds of pictures, videos, funny stories and important information about our litter. And I already mentioned earlier that visitors are always welcome, and I don't mind long conversations on the phone if it helps you to feel confident with your decision on a purchase.

We are (im)patiently waiting for puppies to arrive.

Slowly but steadily we are approaching summer, and our current weather here in Virginia is perfect for the litter we are currently expecting. We all know that the arrival is close, and every night we get up to see if labor has started... just to realize that lots of patience is required when waiting for something so joyful. While we wait, lets take a look back at previous litters.

Although we have a $450 commercial whelping box, Moneypenny prefers
cardboard boxes and Ada prefers giving birth in a small tent... If you don't
give them what they prefer they hold those puppies in and/or stall labor.

Moneypenny. Famous for large litters that easily double the average litter size
of a Whippet. She is easy to breed, an incredibly attentive mother and passes
down her good genetics and level headed personality.

"The birthing tent". Although our two sons were upset that they had to permanently
give up their tent, at least it is easy to clean once whelping has finished...

Ada, our blue fawn beauty who is famous for blessing us with a good amount
of blue puppies. She too is a very attentive mother, but she is also very protective
and may not allow our other dogs to even step in the room.

Taking the puppies away for taking pictures is not always well received
by their mothers, unless they can be with them in the picture.

While we have many title holders in our pedigrees, we concentrate on
producing healthy, athletic and well-minded family dogs.

They look cute, adorable and absolutely innocent. And they are.... for about 3 weeks.
Then the mayhem starts...

Stealing things from the couch table...

Attacking my children...

Getting into the grown ups food...

Looking for the perfect spot to pee... preferably on the carpet.

Unrolling the paper towel while I try to clean up that pee....

Getting themselves dirty.... all... the .... time...

Ending in the bathtub.....

Breaking out of their puppy run....

Not holding still for pictures....

Eating my sons baby cookie....

... and the constant begging!

Raising puppies for 8 weeks is a tough job that requires a lot of attention, a lot of cleaning, a lot of teaching and then a little bit more cleaning. But when we look at all those pictures that we have taken during the course of the last 5 years, we think it is worth it.
