Good morning everyone!

Visit us
We don't mind if you stop by and take a look at the litter, as soon as they are 2 weeks old. If you let me know which time you will be here, I will have freshly brewed coffee ready! Please know that you will have to remove your shoes upon entry of our home, as well as you will have to disinfect your hands.

Reservations
If you want to reserve one of our puppies, we need a down payment of $300. The rest of the purchase price has to be paid 2 weeks prior to pick-up/shipping. We do not "hold" puppies. Since the down-payment is non-refundable and a commitment to purchase, please be 100% sure that you are not going to change your mind about which puppy you want. If you are unsure, just give it a couple more days or weeks, observe how their coats are changing and their overall appearance. You can always contact us and we will be more than happy to help you making the right choice for you and your family!

Payment methods
We prefer checks, but also accept paypal as well as cash.

Pick-up/shipping
The puppy has to be at least 8 weeks plus 1 day of age before he or she goes to the new home. If a puppy seems to need a few more days with us, you will have to wait. The health of the puppies is always our biggest concern, we hope you can understand and accept that. Your puppy can be picked up at our home.
We have a lot experience in shipping our puppies all over the US. We know that a lot of people are concerned about "shipping a live animal", but let me assure you that all our puppies always got to their destination without issues. Some puppies had to travel as far as to the west coast, and they were happy and healthy once their new owners welcomed them.

If you wish to have your puppy shipped, the fee will be $300 which includes the airline approved flight kennel with food bowls. We do not rent kennels from the airline, so the kennel is yours to keep. We will ship the puppy to the closest available airport on the fastest route and connections. Our puppies fly with DELTA AIRLINES.

Last but not least I want to say a few words about puppy SCAMS and online puppy buying...

I understand that buying a puppy online is a scary endeavor for most of you, especially if you have never done it before. Unfortunately, the Whippet can be a rare find here in the United States and there are almost always a whole bunch of miles between you and the puppy of your choice. Scams on the internet have people pay down payments for puppies who never arrive, or probably don't even exist. I want to assure you that we are not a scam. We are real and so are our puppies.
It is important to us that you know WHO WE are, just as we want to know WHO YOU are. In 2013 I therefore started to keep this blog constantly updated on the litter and the individual puppies. This blog will provide you with hundreds of pictures, videos, funny stories and important information about our litter. And I already mentioned earlier that visitors are always welcome, and I don't mind long conversations on the phone if it helps you to feel confident with your decision on a purchase.

And now on to what you really came for...

Info: we have decided to name our puppies after characters of "Vikings" this year, because Vikings are sexy and we love the show! These names are temporary and will not be their official AKC registered names.

Look at all that ... blue!

First things first... I need to make a correction. Shortly after my post from last night I realized that we now have a total of 10 puppies, 5 of which are blue.

Here is a little snapshot that shows the colors quite nicely. Mommy and babies are doing well, and I will give them a few days to adjust before I start to check their genders, colors, markings and give them their temporary names.

Ada gave birth to 8 healthy puppies!

My husband and I have been working on our assignments when my son (4) came downstairs this afternoon and said in excitement: "The puppies are so cute mama. They are squeaking. They are soooo cuuuute!" I didn't understand right away what he meant because we have been talking about Ada's babies for quite some time now, in preparation for the big day. Over the last 4 years he has actively seen puppies being born at least 3 times, which makes my son the best Whippet labor nurse someone could possibly have. Not only is he experienced in how to handle (and how not to handle) the newborn puppies, but he is also very involved in raising them. I had to question him a little bit until I understood that the whelping must have started.

See, we always prepare the whelping environment way ahead of the due date. We always set up a kennel or whelping box inside our bedroom (because puppies often come at night), so that we can be there throughout the whole process, and help if necessary. The kennel was sterilized and prepared, beside it a box with latex gloves, on top of the kennel a basket with our medical supplies in case of complications. But since professional preparedness isn't much valued by our dogs, Ada decided to have her puppies upstairs instead. In my son's bedroom. To be precise, it was in my son's tent in which he has been "camping" now for a few weeks because apparently, beds are uncool among the preschoolers.

Once whelping was finished we moved the puppies downstairs into the designated kennel, where they will stay for the next three nights. That way we can make sure that all puppies survive, which isn't always the case if the mother isn't supervised. Attached you can see a few snapshots.

We have not determined the genders yet, but I can say that we seem to have 3 or 4 blue pups this time. If our ad on puppyfind.com has lead you here, or even if you have landed here by pure chance, please send me an email if you would like to share a name recommendation with us. After all those litters we had, we are slowly but surely running out of ideas.
